So many times I have tried to remember how I solved a particular problem with Solaris or Linux at work and wasted much time in the process, trying to remember the steps I took. I thought to myself wouldn’t it be good if I could just mail my bug fix or discovery to a central website somewhere for the benefit of all. Taking it a step further I decided to let all my fellow Unix Administrators also to post their tips and make use of this site.
Thus UnixAdmin.ftmon.org was born.
The way this works is simple. In order to post a tip I just need the email address you are sending from as a means to prevent spam. Just send an email to webmaster @ this domain name requesting permission to send posts. Give me a bit a background on yourself, where you work, what you are passionate about as a Unix SA and just say hi basically.
When posting to prevent any company footers being added just encase your comment with a :start an an :end.

Here is my tip

NOTE
- By default all tips will go to the Tips category. I will manually sort them into the correct categories later.
- Due to the way the posting and publishing mechanism is implemented it could be up to 5 minutes before your posts appear.
When we get enough content going. I will put a search option on the site as well. Any other suggestions or improvements are very welcome.
